Hi all, a lot has happened in the last few months, I will concentrate on what is happening in our area and give you an update as far as I know on what MESH has been up to, sadly I have report that Joyce is not yet fully able to help in a full-time capacity, I myself was quite ill over the winter months, so we are a behind on keeping you informed for that we all give our apologies’. I would like to talk to you all about Tenants Service Authority, this organization is now the overriding government department that monitors all social housing in England, Tony Osborne and I have been to quite a few training sessions and seminars with the TSA, the great thing about it is aims to put tenants at the heart of everything, and of course this can only be a good thing for us who live on the estate's, unfortunately at this moment in time we're not sure whether or not the TSA will survive government cuts, so I would urge you all that if you have time to either write or e-mail Eric pickles who is the new minister of housing for the coalition government in support of the TSA, I think it's essential that after all the work that has been done, and the tens of thousands of tenants who have been consulted it would be a great pity if the TSA was not kept. You will be aware by now that their neighborhood office will be going back in-house next year, I fully expect there to be rent and rate rises next year, so we must keep on being active and make sure we get the services we pay for. I have written to Hackney homes over the extraordinary heating charges in communal blocks, I've also asked for a full explanation on why they turn some people's heating off for five months every year, if you have any queries or worries please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, can I just remind you we have mesh meetings bi-monthly, I know it's difficult to leave your homes to attend meetings but the strength of MESH has always been about the support and attendance you have all given freely over the years please keep your it up, it is going to be very important that we keep strong and proactive neighborhood team, please remember although our Constitution states that only two members can attend this meetings we would welcome any resident member who lives in the MESH area to attend and participate. We will be producing a newsletter very shortly if you have any items pictures or stories you would like to either appear in the newsletter or on our site, you can also e-mail Tony Osborne who is their new secretary, or hit the e-mail button and it will come straight through to us. Many of you have asked what is happening to the Alamo, the short answer I don't know I expect the council will be making an announcement very soon on what their intentions are, I only hope that there is consultation on whether or not we think it is working in the best interests of Hackney residents, after all we had a vote to bring it into being, we should have a vote to see if we want to continue should we not?
