 Our Delegates have regular meetings with all Departments, including both Officers and Councillors on all issues, whether they are handed down from Central Government, or at a local Government level. We are a group of elected Representatives and are the Residents' voice for our area. We insist on consultation on every matter. This is in line with Central Government requirements to all Councils and working alongside our Council as partners. It goes without saying that we very often will disagree with Council's decisions, and work tirelessly to make a difference for the Residents to meet their aspirations for change that they agree with and not what our Council may think they agree with.  Terry is a well known character throughout Hackney, he has been a NUPE/Unison Branch Secretary in Education for twenty five years and still acts as a Consultant on both Union and housing matters, He has been at the centre of the Residents movement for over thirty years. He was the Purchase and Contracts manager at the College where he worked for over twenty years , and still maintains close contact with them. Terry has over the years, gained a vast knowledge of all departments in Hackney and earned Officers' respect by years of hard work and cooperation. Terry tells it as it is. When he speaks, the Council are inclined to listen, he is known for his frankness and direct approach. When liaising with the Council, they take his views seriously, even though they are sometimes controversial and not always to their liking. Terry is perfectly placed as our MESH Chairman, he has the Residents' interest at heart and is known for getting the job done . When Terry speaks, people in high places listen. Joyce Brown Secretary/Treasure  Brian worked for both the GLC and Hackney Council. He knows who and which department is needed in any given situation, he is most certainly the person for getting repairs sorted. Brian is also a History Buff, having had articles published on our local History, he has also given presentations on local history to the children at a local school. Brian researches local history,if you have any local history that you feel may be of interest, please contact us.  I have been associated with Joyce for about Six years now, how can I describe Joyce ? Well I suppose because she is always misplacing things, such as her glasses, pens, papers etc, I feel she has a Miss Marples complex, why Miss Marples ? you may ask. Well, she is a tireless researcher, who never gives up until the job is done. She constantly chatters on, but is deceptively clever. She is a very good note taker who is willing to learn from anybody, her commitment to the Residents Movement is unwavering. She is of tremendous value to both MESH and myself, in particular. Joyce has also been the main instrument in the building of the MESH site. Well known to Officers and Councillors alike, she has become a linchpin of the MESH organisation. Both Joyce and Brian share the same hobby - fishing, which she tells me is very relaxing and helps her concentrate. They have promised to catch me some eels for some time now, still waiting. That's fishing, they tell me. Terry J Edwards  Tony has been on many crusades for the residents for so many years, he works hard on his TRA, Aspland & Marcon, he is always involved with it's residents, he loves to be involved with the youth and inspires the youngsters to get involved in the estates Garden Club which they have! Tony has had many articles accepted by the Hackney Gazzette, he expresses our residents views on just about anything. Tony has a wonderful nature, not if he doesn't agree with a particular Council Policy he will express our residents views to the max, I suppose the words that sum Tony up are these - give him an issue that needs to be dealt with and he is like a dog with a bone he will not let go of it until it is sorted to the residents satisfaction. Tony wants all of our TRA's reps to let him know what is happening on all of the estates under the MESH Umbrella, he is a whizz at newsletters, let him know what is happening on your estate and he will include it in his next newsletter. Our Administrators name is Althea, who also looks forward to hearing from you just click on the E Mail icon and send any articles, pictures etc and we will do our very best to publish them on our site.
